There waa an air of expectancy about the crutcliings sale held in' Timaru today in view of New Zealand 's rcturii to parity with sterling, but any misgivings tliat may have been arouSed were unfounded as tlie range o'f prie.es was only a shade less firm than those which ruled at the recent Christchurch sale. Buyers had no orders for tleece and vendors wero not prepared to sell at the prlees ol'eving, aml consequently most of these iots were passed in. The cpiality of this season 's earlv sho,rn wool was excel lent. Farmers who had sold to privatc dealers before the saJe were fortjunate, but not so tlie d.ealers.
