The letter whicii Was dir'cted in th,e lirst instanee to the Kew Zeuland Red Cross Society, slaled that ihe people of Skye were sometimes wecks without rations of niilk and eggs. A member of tlie Argyll Count \ Council stated: "Tliis letter niav give a wrong impression. If there are niu cases of acute distress in Skye or in anv )»art of Scotland the rosponsilnlity liewith the local authorities and tlie Go\ crnment Departments conce-rned.
