RUSSIA MAKES THINGS DIFFICULT.
Russia is reducing its, Government [.ersonnel in the United States and making life increasingly difficult for American oflicials in Russia, says the United Press correspondent in Washington, quoting diplomatic sources. The latest State Department figures show that Russia has withdrawn more than 30 per cent of its official personnel from tlie United States during the past vear but still has 364 whieh is larger than tlie Americans in Moscow who; nnmber 154. As examples of unf'air trcatment of Americans in Russia, oflicials in Washington noted that Russia has blocked all efforts to ftxpand the American Embassy staff in Moscow a»d | has stalled for over a year on th.e. opening of the United States' consulate in ■ Leningrad. The Russian s- have also subjected American oflicials to trnvel and other restrictions not imposed' on Russi'ans in the United States.
