INVERCARGILL, August 17. The New Zealand Ski Council has decided to apply to h.ave the skiing events of the Empiro Games field at Queenstown. The Games wero recently allocated to New Zealand to be hekl in 1U5.0 and as that is the centennial vear of Canterbury,. there is some likelihood of the main Games being held. there Queenstown had proved so succcssful as a- chainpionslnp cour.se that it seemed an adniirable place to liold the ski- j ing events as they must he held in winter. The decision of the council is in the way of a feeier to see if Ihe time will be suitable to fit.in with the arrangements for other sports.
