"Stop Stalin Now" Says German Official In Plea To Western Powers

Molotov is expected as soon as the envoys decide .on their reaction to yesterday's meeting, says the British United Press' Moscow correspondent. Three envoys rnet at the United States embassy this morning for discussi,ons. In London, the three man Berlin committee — Sir William Strang, the F-rench Ambassador, M. Massigl'i, and the United States Ambassador, Mr. Lewis Douglas — are studying Mr. Frank Roberts' (Mr. Bevin's chief private secretary) report on the Kremlin meeting. Mr. Douglas saw Mr. Bevin this morning. A Foreign Office spokesman said that no plans have been made for Mr. Roberts to return to London from Berlin.
In Berlin Kurt Swolinski, the German special democratic official, addressing a workers' meeting, demanded that the Western allies stand firrn in the Moscow negotiations. Swolinski said, "just as Roosevelt said before war (stop Hitler now) so* the Western allies should" say today, stop Stalin now." A British spokesman in Berlin said today that 11,000,000 American cigarettes and 17,000 pairs of shoes will be flown to the city this week-end for the Western Berliners. An American licensed newspaper claimed the Russians have kidnapped three German engineers charged with espionage. The two engineers livecl in the Western sectors under American and French jurisdiction.
