The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Liaquat Ali Khan, broadeasting on the Dominion's first anui versary, said t hat Pakistan 's anned forees could sueeessfully deal with aggression from any quarter. Pakistan would support ihe. Seeurity Couneil and all other workers for peace, but would not let anyone 6natch freedom from it. Referring to the dispute with India oyer Kashmir, he said Pakistan. was determined to help the povertystricken Moslems in Kashmir to secure ■ justice and deliverance from oppres-' sors. ' ; Bitter Words From Jinnab. The Governor-General of Pakistan, ; Mr. Jinnah, in an anniversary message, | said Pakistan had faced. the past yeat i with courage, dgtermination and imagination, and its constructive and : ameJiorative work liad gone far beyond oxpectations. "Our enemi'es, disappointed in their efforts by other means to strangle the new State at birth, hoped that economic manoeuvreri w-ould acliieve that object. They prophesied that Pakistan would be lefi bankrupt, with ali tlie wealth of arguinent and detail whieh malicc could invent or ill wiil devise. However, those propliets of evil have been thoroughly discredited. The way in which tremendous difficulties have been overcome, and the progress of the last year, give a firm basis foi pptimism. ' '
