First Annual Meeting Of Lady Bowlers
The annual meeting of the Otaki Ladies' Bowling Club saw a good attendance of jthembers. Two new j members were elected and givep a cordial welcome... . Officers for- the ensuing year / were elected as follows: — President, Mrs. Manttan; secretary and , treasurer, Mrs. Rodgers; club selec- : tor, Mrs. Barnett. Regret was expressed that the retiring president, Mrs. Whitelaw, ; could not accept office this year, and she was the recipient of a presentation from the club. Pr-izes won were presented to the winners of the " singles and doubles competitions as follows: — Singles, Mrs. Rodgers, with Mrs.. Mathie - runner-up; doubles, Mrs. Rodgers , and Miss Clarke. The prizes were very generously donated by Mrs. : Whitelaw. Mrs. Whitelaw donated a further ; gift which was presented to Mrs. ; Manttan in appreciation of her ! work as secretary during the past , | year. / J Following a pleasant and enjoy- ! able afternoon tea, it was agreed ' to hold a number of social events [throughout the year to augment the club's funds, and there seemed to be every indication that the club will have a very successful season.
