MOLOTOV PROTESTS TO U.S.
MOSCOW, August 13. The Moscow radio today said Mr. Molotov had protested to GOneral Bedell Smith (U.S. Amhas&ador) against the Ameriean "connivance" in the disappearance ' of Mrs. Kosenkihd and Mr. and Mrs. Samarin. Mr. Molotov •nsisted bn the release of the Samarins ",nd their transfer to the Russian Consulate in New York and the punishment of all concerned in the kidnapping. Mr. Molotov recounted the eveiits leading to Mrs. Kosenkina'^ di^appbarahce end said the Ameriean Deputy State Zecretary (Mr. Lovfeftj cdnhrmed to the Soviet Ambassadpr in Washington
that Mr. Samarin was suhjected to interrogation hy the Federal Bureau of Investigation which Mr. Molotov added "is thus connected \tvith the organisatiori which kidnappgd Samarin." The Moscow radio' said: "The Rusfiiari puhlic is deeply indignant at the bandit methods employed by the Ameriean Secrefc Sdfvice in connection with Mrs. Kosenkina. Naturally the Russian White Guard traitors feei "at home among this fcolitical handitry. Ttie , Ameriean authorities who encourage un bridled anti-Soviet press campaigns o'hviously patronise the White Gitard , bandits. The kidnapping of Mrs. Kosenkina proves that White Guard bandits operate in New York streets with ] impiinity." - j
