Recfived Wednesday. 10.40 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 10. The weight hfting contests, eliminating rounds in the boxing progmmme, final roiuid ;f the yarhling and semi-Iinul oi tiie soccer comprised today's Olympie progranune. A demonstration of booing and slamping, which lasted 20 minuies, greeted the judges' decision in lavour of the eoloured Anierican, Rddie Johnson, over Ihe Uruguayan, B. Alves, in the featherweiglit bout. Uruguayans booed and stamped while Alves stood in the rino trying to quieten the crowd. When Alves left 1:h? ring, Uruguayan oflicials and supporters earried him slioulder higli ro"nd the Empire Pool. They then earried liim into the official enclosure and demanded that the Uruguay^n judges enter a protest Meanwhile, the next bout had begun, but nobody watche'd it, as Ihe chorus of booing and eheermg continued. The crowd iinally earried Alves to a seat in the Uruguayan supporters' vstand, v/here Alves stood waving to ihe crowd. Tiie president -oi' Ihe IJruguayan Boxing Federation later announced that he would not proiest. The Argentinian boxer, Perez, who needlessly lost ..his hair to qualify for the fly weight divlslon, laler punched his wuy to the i.hird roiuid and won over the H.-ath /.iiiia'i, D. Wiliiams. : Fourleen protests were iodgod as a lesult of Ihe yachting is w •. today. Oflicials had to plan a sohedule for lrearing ihe protests. and the final olliciai resuh will not be avaiiable uinil ihe pnZesLs liaw been decided.
