Bay scored four tries (one converted) and a penalty goal.. Bav backs, who received the greator share of the ball, vvere faster and more versatile in « attack and combined better in defence (hau Coast. Bay forwards gained the ball from more than two-thirds of the decisive scrums and also claimed a margin in the line-outs. Coast forwards played impressively in the early stages, but they wefe subsequentlv outplayed fyv a htter e'ordbinat ion. R. McKiniey" scored two tries and converted oue. ' O'tlier tries were scored by W. Edwafds and J. Barbour, while R. Clav lcicked a penalty goal. East Coast 's try was scored by L. Blane and converted by J. Takarangi.
