Petrol Drums Blow Up
Received Simdav, 7 p.m. MELBOURNE, August 8. Crowds stampeded Avhqu petrol drums exploded during a fire wliich wiped out almost an entire block of sliops in the suburb of Brighton. Some people received ininor burns and a few who feil during the rush to gafety were bad'y bruised. At tlie lieight of the fire, onlook.-rs were showered with blazing fragmeius when the drufns of petrol and cylinders blew up. The daiuage is expected to be about £250.000. Firemen believe that the blaze started in a garage wliich housed a nuuiber of trucks, all of which were destroyed.
