Defendant pleaded guilty by letter and w.as copvicted and fined £2 10s, with costs 10s. . Ss'werab cases.i,Qf.xaUmying. horses to wander on roads were dealt with, the inf-orm'ations being laid by Inspector Davis. Young Dong (third " offence) was fined £1 5s, with' • 1 ls costs ; Alf red Winterburn , 10s on each of three charges, with costs t'otalling £1 11s; Toby'Gray and Jacir Winterburn, 10s each, with costs 11s in eaeli/ case; and 'Mary Taratoa. (fourth offence) , 30s, with 11s cosfs. A charge against'' C. ; Davies of allowing a 'horse to wander in 1 Aotaki Street was dismissed, the mag'istrate remarking that the offence had not been proved on the evidence.
