AUCKLAND, August 5. Eive years' imprisonment was passed on two men who beat up a taxi driyer at Orakei on May 25. Tlie prisoners were Keitli Victor Jefl'ries, aged 2-1, and William Edward Pratt, aged 25., They also robbed tke taxi driver/ Clarence John Williaius, of a watch. and £4 Ss in money. . ; "The erime was callous,' ealeulatod--and brutal, ' ' said Mr. Justiee Finlay.
