w . DUNEDIN, August 5. Bird fanciers from all parts of New Zealand were among the prize winners at the New Zealand cage bird show opened today. The standard of entries was high. , L." M. Brain (Christchurch) entered the cha'mpion budgerigar, winning the award from 400 others in the larges! seetion of the show. E. Tompkins (Oamaru) tdok the championship fot Norwieh canaries anc the national challenge trophy for the best unflighted canary. " The mule or British hybrid went tc A. and M. Clark. S. _Gray (Wellinpton) won the breeders ; trophy with a ringneek parrakeet.
