Design Selected For 1948 Health Stamps

The selected desigh for the 1948 issue of Health stamps is announced- by the Postmaster-General (Mr. Ha.ckett). It- is a desigri" prepared by Mr, E, Lihzell, of the staft of. Messrs, Bradbury .Wilkinsoh and Company, Ltd., England, and shows a .lad, sllnbathing in a draped iandscape window, watching other children at play outside. The centre piece is a composite picture of a New Zealand Health Camp against a background of -native scenery. ' The denominations for this year's issue are as usual, ld postage plus |d health, and 2d postage plus ld health. The colours are 1-1-d green border and blue centre, and iithe 3d red border and brown centre. The stamps were printed in intaglio process by Messrs. Bradbury Wilkinson and Company, Ltd. The stamps will bo piaced'on sale on October 1 next, stated Mr. Hackett, and will be withdtawn on January 31, 1949. This withdrawal date is one 'month earlier than . usiial, he added. This is to avoid the issue lapping into the special commemorative issue to mark the Royal Visit. ' .
