Utility Tractor Purchased For Borough Work
The long needed purchase of a utility tractor, hitherto impossible because of a lack of funds, has. now been, made by the Levin ... Borough Cotihcil. The machine obtained is a particularly versatile one, and will enable- street and footpath maintenance and grass cutting on the reserves to be carried out more efficiently and economically than in the past. Mounted on rubber, the machine is a small combination grader of the comparatively light type. In addition to taking a grader blade, it has attachments for a grass mower and footpath roller. The cost of the tractor and its attachments will he about £1200, all of which the council has been able to provide from revenue without? increasing the rates. The Pahiatua Borough Council has been using such a machine for some time with very satisfactory results. Its overseer was made, available for two days this week to demonstrate the uses of the tractor to the local borough staff.
