Too Much Pocket Money Says Monty
Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Angust 4. Pieid Marslial Montgomery, during an inspection of the army cadet camp at Strensall, near York, went hehind the counter of the camp Naafi and cjuestioned the cadets making purchases ahout the amount of pocket money they received. Afterwards Field Marshal Montgomery said: "Eoys who leave school at 15 and go out to work are getting a lot of pocket money — usually hetween £1 and 30s weekly. That is too much. When I was 15 I got one shilling weekly. Thirty shillings is a lot for a youag lad launching out into life where he is gomg to meet temptation. It is important to get him into a youth organisation where he will learn the value of money."
