Coal Miners Raise More Difficulties
AUCKLAND, August 3. No work was done at the Renown minc todav following a prolongcd stopwor.k meeting over t'acilities in the single miners' quarters. All othei Huntly' mincs worked with t'ull attendanccs after rcports on the settleinent of the deputies' strike were given by delegates to comparativly short stopwork meetings. The Renown niine meeting lasted until 10.20 a.m. and the longest of the other pithead meetings Hni.sh.ed at 9.20 a.m. Because the Renown colliery meeting lasted more tllan two hours, the niine had to be inspected a second time as the norma! safetv procedure. This left little chancc of a start of work so the men retumcd^home. It is understood that dissatisfaction with the recent laek of power and lighting in the single men 's accoinmodation was the subject of the long meeting. About 250 men atc cniployed at the Renown niine.
