New Season's Marching Plan Explained

1 A copy of the proposed new season's plan for marching contests 1 was received by the Horowhenua Association on Saturday morning, ; and this was explained to members ■ by Mr. J. Macfarlane at their annual Meeting on Monday night. This year the diagram covers 290 yards and consists of 14 move1 ments, which are compulsory. At the end of the compulsory section of the march, teams must do an "own choice" display in a distance of 35 yards, not taking less than 2i minutes nor more than three. From- the spectators' point of view, it will be a welcome change, as no doubt some excellent designs will be worked out. Whereas in the past each team has done the same thing in -all important contests, in the . future . .more variety will'-be added. The diagram will be discussed by delegates from all over New Zealand when the annual meeting of -the N.Z. Marching and Recreation "Association is held next week.
