Two youths who were criticall) Inirued when their clothing caught fife at night 011 an unf roquented highway; mounted their inotor-cycles haked'and rode three miles to tl'ie Canberra .C(im/ muuity Hospital. Botli collapsed on . arrival, were given injections of morphine and were found to be in critical coiiditions. The youths, aged IS and 19 respectivelv, left Canberra last night to attend a ilance at .Queanbeyan. Be-c-ause the temperature was below freez ing and a bitter wind w-as blowihg, tliey stopped three miles from Canberra and lit a roadside lire to warm tlieinseives. The petrol used to light the Jire ignited petrol in a can aud blazing fluid spraved on to botli youths. They rolled in tli' gravel aud heat at eacli other for 15 niinutes before the fiaines were extiug'uished. By th'at tiine the clothing had lieen burned from their bodies and all they had between them avus oue pair of scorched underpants and a short motoring jacket. Doctors said afterwards that they had uot knowfi worse cases of Imrning ix^ Canberra , _
