Received Monday, 11,35 a.m. n. • . LQNDQN, August 1. It is expected that Marsjial Stalin will receive the diplomatic representatiyes of Britain, France and the United Scates at a jomt meetmg at the Kremlin very shortly, says Reuter's Moscow correspondent. Latest reports, according to informed foreign circles, indicate that the meeting will take place tomorrow night.
There wjaslan atmosphere of exi?pctancy in j;he Embassies of the Wenern countries, members of "the staffs of the British, French and ■ United States Embassies staying in Moscow over the bank holiday instead of going to their country houses outside the city. Marshal Sokolovsky is believed to be in Moscow. I: is likeiy that he, as well as M. Molotov, would attend any conference between Marshal Stalin and the Western Powers. Nothing has been disclosed of the exact form that the Western Powers' approach will take. Wellini'ormed observers, however, believe that they will offer an opportunity for discussion by the Four Powers at a high level. The general impression in Moscow is that Marshal Stalin, M. Molotov and other Soviet leaders want peace and would welcome the removal of the obstacles to a set.tlement.
