A forthright reply to his crities Was given by the Minister of Works (Mr. Semple) during an address in Auckland. "I have been in Parliament for 20- years and I have gone back each tinie with an increased majority," said Mr. Semple. Wants Trains Heated The restoration of heating in Field's Express trains running jDetween Wellington and Palmerston Nprth was sought in the House pf Representatives yesterday afterpoon by Mr. M. H. Oram (Opposition, Manawstu) , who in conjunction with Mr. Maher (Opposition, Otaki) asked the Minister of Railways, Mr. Semple, to act in the matter. Mr. Oram, in a note Uttached to his question, said it was understood that the heating of these trains was discontinued during wartime because of the need to conserve rubber used in the conneptions between carriages but the rubber situation had now considerafoly improved.
