GENERAL PERSHING'S FUNERAL
WASHINGTON, July 20. Tens of thousands stoocl bareheaded in Ihe rain yesterday to pay their last respects as the body, of General Pershing, the eommander of the American troops in World War I, was taken to the Arlington National Cemetery. President -Truman, ' Mr. Marshall, General Fisenhower, and other high military ofiicials and civilian dignitaries stood bv in a hnal salute. General Pershing was buried in a plot chosen by himself vears ago, lying close to the graves of many officers and men who served with him in World War I. " "
