Further Bloodshed In Malaya

Received Tuesdav, 7 p.m. SINGAPORE, July 20. The Selayang pobce staton, 8 miles north of Kuala Lumpur, on the main Ipoh Road, was attacked by 30 insurgents last night but the attack was repulsed. Mrs. W. Taylor, of Lower Hutt, New Zealand, vvhose husband is Ihe manager of a nearby tin mine, found herself in no mon 's land during the 15 mimites' battle. Blie was not hit though bullefs whistled around the house from front and rear. Her home was between the police statioji and Ihe attackers. One British major and six Maiay soldiers were killed when reinforceinents en route to Guamusang were ambushed on the road. Fleavy firing took place for six hours. Further reinforcements are being sent to .the scene.
