The North Islaud dairy factory managers' award which has just been issued by the Court of Arbitration, inCeases the basic rates of salaries for buttcr and cheese factory managers by . £62 y early. , Brancli managers in. cheese and' miik.powddr fatitories hre to be paid in accofdancp witli the scale, less 5 per cent., provided the dedu'etion does not bripg the^f salaries beiow £523 17s, and tlie maximum salary shall not be above £628 7s. ' Supervising managers, dual-plant managers, and brancli managers shall be provided with' a. 'fr'oe suitable residence or allo'wance tliere'f'or, and requisitos consisting of cheese, milk and fuel (and butter when.such, is sold to suppliers), in. respect of cheese factories and butter, milk and fuel in respect of butter factories, with a maximum of 41b. of butter a week in both cases, for the. manager 's own household '.requirements,. ' "... The award will operafe ' througliout the Northern Taranaki and Wellington industrial distriets and will be deemed to eorne into force on June 1, 1948. It will continue to May 31, 1950.
