Meeting Of Otaki-Te Horo Women's Division
There was a large attendance of members at the'- mp'nthiy meetifig " of the Otaki-Te Horo branch of- the •- Women's . Division of- Federate.dFarmers, held recently. • ■ Thfe- presi'dent, Mrs. S. Black- A bunie;- reported having received- ai very gratif ying ;■ rveport on the distribution of food, parcels sent to Portchester, England, both consignments having arrived at "their _ destination. They have been "distributed to aged and needy people: The 21st birthday of the branch takes place in- September, and^ arrangements were made to hold a' social evening at Te Horo to celebrate the event. Members were given an opportunity of briefly d.iscussing the remits to the Dominion conference, at which Mrs. C. Walker will represent the branch. It was stated that through the generosity of visiting members of other branches, it was possible to give the Otaki Sanatorium patients another outing. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the hostesses, Mesdames E." M. Southcombe and D. C. Blake. The bring-and-buy stall held an attractive offering of potted plants, which found a ready sale. A wire basket of lachenalia in full bloom, donated by Mrs. C. Walker, was competed j for and went to Mrs. L. Smith. A , huge branch of violets, the gif-t of j Mrs. V. J. Cottle, was secured by - Mrs. L. Styles.
