Hadson (Hubbard's) 6.8 defeated M. Boyce (Levin) 6.8. The bout was marked with plenty of • action and it was only in the final round that Hodson gained his points. Two Palmerston North boys, N. Whittingham (Kiwi) 8.6 and C. Vinnihg (Hubbard's) 8.6 kept the crowd excited by their taetful boxing, and with more experience they should do well. Carrying the fight most of tfie way Ian Cameron (Levin) 6.Q was successful in gaining a points 'decision over Q. Murrel (Hub--bard's) 6.0. The elusiveness of Cameron was good and his win was well merited. • The easiest win of the night was scored- by T. Hanly (Kiwi) 8.9, who scored a T.K.O. over D. Rathbone (Levin) 8.10 within 30 seconds • of the first round. Hanly's attack caught his opponent off guard and before he could recover ' he was rsent to the mat. Although conceding 12^ Ibs., R. With the advantage of a longer reach, A. Rule (Kiwi) 8.11 scored a narrow win over B, Hadfield (Hubbard's) 8,7 in a particularly fast bout. Hanly (Kiwi) 7.5 defeated R. Hepworth (Hubbard's) " 7.5. Hepworth's grim determination, however, earned him the applause of the audience. The defence work "by A. Rolston (Levin) 7.0 was too solid for A. Moore (Hubbard's) 7.3 and the judges had no hesitation in giving the bout to the Levin lad. In what was a poor exhibition of hoxing, D, Rolston (Levin) 9.9 defeated J. Harris (Levin) 9.2. Neither scored with solid blows, the bout lacking punch. Although with .13 lbs, to his advantage, R.
