FERTILISER RATIONING APPEALS ON GROUNDS OF IIARDSHI 1 /\PPEALS for additional fertiliser for top-dressing purposes for the rationing year 1948/49 must be in the hands of the Chairman of the District Fertiliser Committee by 20th July, 1948. Appeals will be , considered only on the follpwing.bases:— ' 1. From ttiose farmers who have not appealed- on any previous occasion, or fpr those "properties for which no previous appeal has been lodged by either the existing or by a former occupier. 2. From those farmers who Can produce documentary evidenbe to the effect that they have brought in out of virgin. country during the 1947/48 rationing period areas which have been sown down to new grass. Abpeals from returned servicemen from World War II, and from others who acquire after the 20th July, 1948, property for which there is no top-dressing fertiliser allocation, can be considered -at any time during the rationing year. ALL APPEALS MUST BE IN WRITING addressed by the farmer to the Chairman, District Fertiliser Committee, care of Department of Agriculture for the district in which the property (for which the appeal is lodged) is situated. All applicants must state the name of the vendor from whom it is desired to obtain supplies of fertiliser in the event of the appeal being successful. Documentary evidence in support of appeals mentioned in paragraph 2 above should consist of a copy of the invoice for the grass seed, and also signed statements from the owners or managers of two neighbouring properties to the effect that the grass seed was sown on virgin country.
