WELLINGTON, July 14: Tlie question of whether a farmer's wife workmg on a farm, should be allowed an increased - income tax exemption of £200, was raised by Mr. M. H. Oram in the House of liepresentatives today. The Minister of Finance, Mr. Nasli, in reply, said tliat tlie provisions of the Land and Income Tax Act prohibited paymeuts of any kind by a husband to a wife from being recognised for taxation purposes.
