Building In Riverbank Road Condemned

At last night's meeting of the Otaki Borough Council the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. T. C. Lonie, wrote a'dvising having inspected a property in Riverbank Road, Otaki. "This is a small and very old dwelling in a dilapidated condition," the letter continued. "It is noW| vacant.- The dwelling is not, in my j estimation, capable of being repaired to such a degree as to ren'der it habitable. I, therefore, certify that these premises are, by reason of disrepair and insanitary conditions generally, dangerous to health and unfit for habitation. I shall be gla'd if you will place this certificate before your local authority with a view to the building being closed or demolished." An application for a permit to renovate the house came before the council and was refused.
