AUCKLAND CARGO ON TOP OF SULPHUR
NEW PLYMOUTH, July 12. Tlie motorsliip Gleubank which was diverted from Auckland, arrived at New Plymouth late this afternoon from the Gulf of Mexico. Her general cargo for Auckland which the national president of the Waterside Workers' Union, Mr. Barnes, has directed the New Plymouth branch ot tlie Union not to handle, lies on top of the sulphur which is to be discharged at New Plymouth and the ship's officers sav the sulphur canuot be unloaded uutil the general cargo is removed. What action the New Plymouth watersiders will take wlien lab"ur is called tomorrovv morning, could not be learned tonight. _ Questioned on the subject the president of the branch,. Alr. W. F. Titcoinbe, said: "If Mr. Barnes says we are not to touch the Auckland cargo, I suppose we will have to abide bv it." ^ The master of .the Glenbank, Captain Fraser, said that if tlie cargo was not going to be unloaded at all he supposed it would have to be ta.ken elsewhere. The ship's 'total cargo, he added, was loaded at four ports, the last of which was New Orleaus, in six days.
