Fire Destroys Trotting Stables

INVERCARGILL, July 11. The trotting stable of Mr. S. Kirby, Wyndham, was totally destroyed by lire about 3.15 a.m. today. The only thing saved was a jogger. Mr. Kirby 's loss is heavy. In addition to trotting gear valued at about £430, some of which belonged to patrons of the stable, he also lost a motor truek, 35 sacks of oals, 250 bales of pressecl hay, 3 tons of potatoes and other goods. No liorses were lioused in the stable at the time. The building, which comprised si." loose boxes and store roojns, was insured for £100. The truek was insured with the same company but there was no insurance on the gear.
