Local Rugby Union Wins Boundary Dispute

Zealand Rugby Union will advise the Manawatu Union accordingly. This information is contained in the rninutes of a meeting of the committee held on Jqly 6, r Messrs. A. Gillespie, W. ' C. Hannan, T. Winiata, and J. E. Fullarton, of the Horowhenua Unipn, Were reported to haye.waited on the coniniittee in Connection with the disputed boundary. It was stated that although the handbook of ~the N.Z. Union disclosed the whole of the Manawatu County to be in the Manawatu Union's boundary, .this was incorrect as shown by maps of both iinions' boundaries signed as correct by both unions in 1935, and which show Foxton as being within the boundaries of the Horowhenua Union. When this report was referred to the secretary of the Horowhenua Union, Mr. J. E. Fullarton, he stated that no action would be taken in regald to the Foxton and Awahau teams, which were at present playing for Manawatu, at this stage as the season was too far advanced, but that they would be required to ulay in the Horowhenua next season. He added fhat the union would be very plea&ed to have these clubs again playing under Horowhenua's . adininistration.
