Miss Madge Coley, who reeently took up nursing duties at Lower Hutt, paid a shprt visH. to Shannon this week, when she "was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. Roberts. Vogel Street. A Dangerous Pastime ' ; It is reporte'd that three young children in search of adventure crawled under the qattle-stop on the, railway line to: experience a thrill as an express train passed over them. This is a very dangerr ous way to get a thrill, as the children could have met their death in many ways.. A Hen That Swings A resident of this district has reeently constructed a swing for his children under some trees and apart from the entertainment which the youngsters derive from their new plaything, it did not take long for one of the hens to find out the purpose of the swing. Now, while the children are at school, the he.n spends hours flying "up on to the- swing and her weight sets-. it in -motion. As it slows down she h'ops off and repeats the procedure,
