McKenzie, of. -Wellington, head the ranking' lists-.ior women! -and, men piayers respectively, announced today by the New Zealand Lawn Tennis • Asspciation for the 1947^48' seasohN In. place of the usual ten ip each section, only five men and seven women- are \ranked. The Davis Cup representive, J. A: Barry, of Auckland,. Is omitted because of insufficieiit performances. The' ranking lists are: — Men: R. S„ McKenzie (Wellingfcpn), J. E. Rotason (Otago), O. M. Bold (Hutt Valley), A. S. Burns (Auckland), and S. Painter (Wellington) . ' .. . Women: Misses E. G. Attwood (Auckland), M. L. Kerr .(Otago), M. Beverley (Waikato), and B. Potter (Auckland), 'and Mrs. J. Robb (Hutt Valley). Mrs. J. McVay (Wellington) and Miss J. MacGibbon (Canterbury) are bracketed for sixth position. The performances of the following piayers were not considered conclusi've enough to warrant their being ranked:— Men: C. Angas (Wellington), P. Becroft (Auckland), E. D, B. Lusk (Auckland), R. W. , Smith (Auckland), L. P. Roaeh (Waikato), ancr A. W. Tills (Auckland). Women: Mrs. E. Anderson (Wellington), Miss N. M. Fleming (Wellington), Mrs. H. Lane (Canterbury) and Mrs. S. Painter (Wellington).
