cups of flour 1 teaspoon carbonate soda tablespoon margarine -3 \ level -teaspoons B. powder pinch of salt l cup sugar 1 egg • 1 cup sour milk 1 cup cold prune liquid 1 cup chopped cooked prunes \ cup finely chopped nuts Rub shortening into sifted flour, carbonate soda. baking powder and salt. Add sugar. Beat egg and add milk and prune liquid; pour into dry ingredients, mixing lightly. Fold in the prunes and, nuts. Place in a greased loaf tin, and bake in a moderate oven for about an hour. Slice and butter when cqld, or spread "with softened cream cheese. ' ,
