The death has occurred in the Hutt Hospital, after a short illness, of the Venerable Ai'chdeacon F. H. Petrie, aged 73, a former VicarGeneral and one- of the best known clergymen o,f the Diocese of Wellington. ■ Mr. Wesley E. Richards, well--known evangelist in Palmerston North and Levin, who was picked up unconscious on the highway at Tokomaru on Sunday night, died in the Palmerston North Hospital yesterday. It is understood that Mr. Richards remained unconscious up to the time of his death. Mr. Richards, who lived in Church Street, Palmerston North, had gone to Tokomaru on Sunday to conduct a .religious service, and it is thought that while he was walking along the road he was struck by- a passing vehicle. He was 72 years of age.
