Big Four Ask Yugoslavia To Call Conference

Copyright)

Received Wednesday, 10.5 a.m. LONDON, July 6. Britain, France, Bussia and "the United States have delivered identical notes to the Yugoslav Govemment asking it "to fornially convene a conference on the Danube navigation ln Belgrade on July 30. .Reuter's Belgrade correspondent says that the notes asked the Yugoslav Government to issue invitations and arrange facilities for Press correspondents. The notes recalled the Big Four Foreign Ministers' meeting in Moscow which deeided to call the conference. 'They suggested that the Yugoslav Gjvernment, on its own behalf and on behalf of the Big Four, shoUld invite Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Rumania and the Ukraine to send representativesj, and invite Austria to send consulting representatives. Reuter's diplomatic correspondent says that the' notes are considered as a sign that Russia has deeided to continue to recognise the Yugoslav regime in foreign politics, despite its expulsion from the Cominform. It appears to condrm the impressio'n that the Soviet Government, ast distinct from the Soviet Communist Party, does hot intend to sever relations with Marshal Tito.
