The Minister in cliarge of census and statistics, Mr. Nash, anriouncecf tonight that the following had beeii a'ppointed a comniittee to investigate and report to the Government on a revised retai-i ; prices index: — Mr. E. R. Walsh, viCe-presidhnt of the FedOratiori o'f Labour and member of the Economie Stabilisation ColnmisSion; Mr. . E. C. Fussell, Deputy'-Goyei'ho* of the Reserve Bank of New -Zealand and eliaii'man of the former .committee which reported on the wurtime prices i-ridex; Mr. G. E. F.* Wood, Governmerit Statistician; Mr. K. Baxter, secretary of the Federktion of Labour; Mr. W. A. Fox, national exeeutive of the Federation of Labour; Mr. M. J. Moriarty, secretary of the Ecbiiomic Stabilisation Coriimission; Mr., li. fe. O'Dell, former secretary of the. Economic Stabilisation Cofnmlssioh and of thfe wattime prices index committee.
