It- was said that the finahcial membership now stan'ds at 28, and it was reported by -the treasUrer, Mr. C. B. Connell, whom he described as a particularly . acfive supporter q| fhe club and also to fhe senipr vice-president, Mr. 4- Jphlin, who had assisted in the judging and had been a "t'ower of strength." Reviewing the past rrials, Dr. Miiler said that they were as good here as anywhere ip New Zealand and there had been'a good representafion frpm qutside cluhs. Tne trials had all been outstanding successes and had been conaucted with . the gipatest sporfsmanship. ' The Horowhenua A team hau been successfui in securing the Burt Cup at the Hutt trials on April 10 last year and the B team had secured third place. The ladies' committee had also, been of invaiuable assistance at trials, and he wished to record the club's thanks to the members of it. He also recommended to the incoming committee that a letter of thanks be sent to the proper-ty owners, Messrs. Drake Brothers, of Waikawa Beach, Manakau/ for the u%e of the land fpr ihe trials and the great support that had heep received from them, and a request fhat the club be agaip permitted fhe u§e of the land. In conclusion, he thanked the committee for tPe snppprt it had given him during the year? x The election of officers resulted as follows: — Patron: Mr. J. Connell; president: Mr. A. Joblin; vicepresidents: Dr. E. T. G. Milier and Mr. C. B. Greenaway; secretary: Mr. W. Urquhart; treasurer: Mr. C. B. Greenaway; working committee :- ; .Messrs. J. Connell, A. Joblin, C. B. Greenaway, W-. Urquhart, H. -McGffire, P. McDonald, PV j. Rombouf, .C. Christensen and Dr. E. T. G. Miiler. . *■ ; Mr. Joblin was appointed dele'gate to the annual -conference of The N.Z. Kennel Clu"p, and the ■annual subscriptipn was reduced tp , 10s as ah encouragement to otliers .to join the club. A letter was received from the N.Z. Ken'nel Club gun dog trials s fexecutive committee approving the club's suggested dates for ' tnis I year's trials; , They are: O.ctober 3, November ' 21,..„-B1ebruary 13 and jMarch 24. It was decided to h'old }the .next annual meeting on the > first Thursday in July. I -it was also decided to apply so The N.Z. Kennel Club for tne - approval of the promotion" of ' Mr. ! Joblin from probationary judge'to [an officiai judge. ! During the meeting Mr. Joblin intimated that he would be donat;ing a trapli'y to be known as the ."Hargay trophy" for competition as j a points prize for the best points in the open- trials of this year. It was put forward as a recommendation to the committee tnat in the all breeds championship * a special pr-ize be awarded for competition between handiers who have not won an open trial. The meeting resolved that the delegate to the annual conference b.e stsked tq bring forward the quesfion of all clubs being notified f>y the central body of tne dates of trials throughout the Dominion. .
