NOTES AND COMMENTS
With more interest being taken in hockey and new players comingfoyward, some fine games should be witnessed next season. It usually takes a season before new players adapt themselves to the sport, but even now there is evidence of some good representative material. As some new teams have been formed since the championship began, it has been suggested that for tlie final round all points to date be dropped, so that the last round could be fought out by all teams on cn equal basis. As the position stands at the moment, there is little chance of the late startmg teams catching up. Te Horo has now a lead of eight points rrom the second team, Levin, and this secms unlikely to be changed. The chance of the lowest team on the list, Raukawa, gaining the 13 and Levin Colts 16 points necessary for victory is 'an impossible task. If the teams face'd the final round on an equal basis, it would certainly give the younger teams more enthusiasm and encouragement, and it is to be hoped that this will be given consideration at the next association meeting.
