W AiSH IN GTON, June 29. Mr. Trygve Lie toniglit abandoned anv idea of putting tlie Berlin crisi.s before tke Security Council at present. Earlier tlie State Department had declared it did not consider the time ripe for United Nations' intervention. A department spokesman added that tlie United States Government was exploring every means of arriving-at a settlement of the differences which had arisen. ' A French delegation spokesman said France intended to try to settle the Berlin problem by consultation with the other interested Governments and therefore France could not comment on Mr. Lie 's proposal until all possible efforts to solve the prablem had beeu made by'the Powers concerned. Mr. Lie said toniglit: "I have been watching elosely the situation in Berlin for soiue time and will continue to do so. At this time I do not plan* any netion under articie 99 of fhe United Nations Charter. " I' — ' . i— V. -■
