At the Otaki Domain on Friday, Otaki Convent met and defeated Manakau by' two unconverted tries to nil. The game was keeniy contested, and aithough Manakau had the advantage in weight, the nippy Convent forwards were everywhere • and cou'id not be denied. • Tries were scored by George Taucher and Tom Condon. Huff was unsuccessful in his attempts to' convert. Otaki State School made the. trip to Paraparaumu to meet and dei'eat Paraparaumu Schooi by 10 points to six. For Otaki, Barry Jensen scored a nice try, which he converted, and Cliff Taucher was also successful in crossing Para-1 paraumu's line. B. Jensen converted. The home team's points were gained from two penalties, kicked by Waldrom. Otaki State School sent two basketball teams to Paraparaumu on Friday, where they met and defeated two Paraparaumu School .teams, the A team proving victors by 19 — 0 and the B team by 10 — 4.
