AUCKLAND, June 21. The pliglit of hoineless xieople and tlie desperate liousing shortage, liave been reflected in manv of the inquiries received by Tasman Lnipii'e Airways J ro m people interested in tlie possibility of making temporary dwcllings from oue of the two pioneer aircraft of the company's fieet. The two old flying boats Aotearoa and Awarua wero recently- offered for sale and in addition to nine tenders received by closing time, 50 or 60 inquiries had been made l),v x>cople in the main seeking soinewhere to live. Although various schemes for using the trvo old aircraft were iudicated by the inquiries received, tlie great nuvjority suggested tliat there ivas a cliance of either the Aotearoa or Awarua being convcrtcd into a liome or else a seaside bacli. Oue woman had the idea of making one of the fiving boats into a bowser station with the fuselage as -an ofiice and the petrol pumps mounted under the 114ft span of the wiugs.
