Pedantic is to run in the Trentham Hurdles next month. He has stood up to his racing remarkably well and should be a payable proposition to follow at Trentham. . Cooraclare will resume racing at Manawatu tomorrow after a spall. He gives the imjfression of having gone through a good preparation. Cooraclare might be a better horse to follow this season than last as he has fully recovered from the ; compiaint that had been troubling him. • Archie Larkin, the Woodville trainer who has had a bout of sickness, has now fully recovered and is back .in harness attendlng to his siriall "tearn. Larkin, an ex-Otaki boy-, was private trainer to the late Mr. C. W. Merrylees, Dannevirke. When recently in Woodville he told me he' was now a f ree lance trainer and that his stables were not taxed, there being roorn for a few more horses. Larkin has had some indueement to establish his stables at Otaki, but will remain at Woodville where he has exceptionally good training quarters. The star of the stable is Desert Sand. Larkin has this smart youngster, m excellent fettle and expects to do well with him this season. - ♦!«
