Women's Division Meeting At Ohau
In welcoming members at the monthly me'eting of the Ohau branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers, the pre'Sident, Mrs. J. A. Kiisby, voiced gratification at the unusually large attendance. i Members were very interested in a garment made for a Chinese girl by Mrs. V. G. Hunter, of Kuku, who ioffered to make a second one. It j was reported that money raised for iCORSO would be spent on' hospital jrequirements for China. ! It was also reported that 18 food 'parcels had been forwarded to a home for incurables in Stockport, lEngland. >, A stall • to raise moneyIfor food parcels for Britanpreturned £13. A taik on conditions in Britain, given by' Rev. G. B. Stose-Biandy, of Levin, was of interest to all, as were photographs he had taken on his recent trip there. A display ^"My Prettiest Plate," was most attractive. A late rose exhibited by Mrs. J. Kiisby won the best flower competition. Other : competitions were won by Mesdames M. E. Burnell, Anderson and H. J. McLeavey. The hostesses, Mesdames Burt, Findsen, and McCartney and Miss Catley, provided a dainty afternoon tea.
