STEADY DEMAND AT WESTFIELD

AUCKLAND, June 16. There was a ready demand for a large yarding of lambs at Westfield and values were very firm. Sheep .were penned in large numbers and priine wethers sold at late quotations while values easecl for increased supplies of fat ewes. An average yarding of beef met a steady demand and late quotations were well maintained. Values showed a further improvement for an average yarding of ealves and vealers again met a verv keen sale. Very few pigs were yarded aud the quality of the stores was noor. Pork sold at advaneed rates and bacon was also keeniy sought.
