AUCKLAND, June 14. An augmented air service between Auckland and Sydnev which is to begin 011 Thursdav with the return to the service of three of four flyingboats which have been grounded since February 23 may be continued for some time. The general manager of Tasman Empire Airways Ltd. (Mr. G. N. Roberts) said the present arrangement for charter flights by Australian Nationai Airways exjiircd at the end of this month, but that negotiations for an extension of the eharters w*ere in progress at least until the"' end of June and possibly for some time afterward. There would be 12 return flights across the Tasman each week, he added. Six would be made by the Australian Company's- Slcymasters and six by the Tasman Airways flyingboats. Thus there wrould be capaeity to carry about 800 people a week across the Tasman as long as the augumented service continued. With the certiflcates of airworthiness returned for three of the company's four flying boats preparations were now being made to despatch one of them for Bvdney on Thursdav morning. He added that the order in which th'e aireraft would be flown had not -yet been deeided.
