INQUIRY AT AWAPUNI ON SATURDAY
An inquiry was held into the falling of Philanderer (\V. Rout) in the first division of the Maiden Stakes, and F. R. Meynell (rider of Lord Manna) was charged under Rule 289 2 (b) and 3. The committee decided that Mcvnell was guilty under the rule of failing lo give a clear two lengths before cross- . iug, and that he be suspended for oue month as from June 12. *
