NEW PLYMOUTH, Juiie 13. Tliree of the "five prisoners who escaped from Waikune PriHon Camp on Friday morning, Leonard Dean, Dawson King and Ivan Hehwood, were recaptured at Taumarunui by Detective-Ser-geant W. H. Cromwell and Cohstable R. C. Youllaire at the point of the pistol on Raturday night. The other two, Leonard Wells and Reuben Repia, gave themselves up at Manunui about midnight. Deteetive-Sergeant Cromwell and Constable Youllaire had been searching the Owhango area and were driving along a Taumarunui street when they saw the escapees. They jumped from their car and had the men covered before they knew what had happened. Repia and Wells, who had parted from the other three, were suffering severely from cold when they surrendered to Constable G. MeKenzie at Manunui. They had had no food since Thursdav jaight. John Bernard Bennie, who escaped from Hautu Prison Camp on Thursdav, was arrested by the prison autliorities at Jellicoe Point, Lake Taupo, on Saturdav afternoon.
